After failing to heed advice to change the title of his popular song ‘ikaragi’, popular singer Kitoko Bibarwa could be in hot waters, Times Sport can exclusively reveal. The National Paralympic committee (NPC) has vowed to use all means possible to stop his song from being played on the airwaves, because the title of his song is degrading to people with disabilities. According to the NPC president Dominique Bizimana, the word ‘Ikiragi’ is a Kinyarwanda word which literally means a person who have hearing and speech disabilities. Bizimana told Times Sport, that he had personally advised Kitoko that they (NPC) would fully sponsor him (Kitoko), if he changed the title of his song, and some parts of his songs which degrade people with hearing disabilities. “I personally spoke to Kitoko thrice, telling him that the title of his song is offensive and deregulatory, and we offered to sponsor him to change the title and some parts of the song. Am happy that the national television has heeded our advice not to play the song, and the radio stations are doing the same. Ends
