RENOWNED Rwandan disc jockey, Arnaud Shema, popularly known as DJ Toxxyk, is set to thrill music lovers in Kigali this weekend at The Toxxyk Experience event. Organised by Intore Entertainment, the event is the first among others that the entertainment firm will bring to Kigali this year, including Tayc’s show. Speaking to this publication, Bruce Intore, founder of Intore Ent, says that this event is in line with the firm’s aim to not host international musicians only, but also appreciate home grown talents. He says that with this event, there is an opportunity to not just highlight or appreciate the career of DJ Toxxyk over the years, but also show people how Toxxyk is a talented artiste and DJ who has a lot to offer to Rwanda’s music industry. DJ Toxxyk has been at the forefront of Rwandan music and the entertainment industry at large for six years. Net photos “Over the past six years, DJ Toxxyk has been at the forefront of Rwandan music and the entertainment industry at large by providing us with the best music and mixes with his disk jockey skills, while playing at our biggest events and clubs. This will be the right time to give back what he has been doing by celebrating with him this journey,” Intore says. DJ Toxxyk’s career has seen him take his disc jockeying skills to different cities such as Brussels, Dubai, Paris and many others. Talking to The New Times, the local DJ says that this event is a space to celebrate the achievement of Rwandan talent, as well as inspire anyone who wants to start a disc jockeying career. The ‘Wenda’ hit-maker also notes that he will début some of his exclusive projects at the event including a five-track extended play (EP) which features different musicians including his late friend, DJ Miller, alongside merging artistes like Ariel Ways, Juno Kizigenza, Ange Mutoni, to mention a few. “The past six years was an exciting journey with a lot of ups and downs, but we managed to push our music and it’s now growing at a good pace,” DJ Toxxyk says, adding, “This event will be special because I will be the only one playing music from the first minute to the end. Let’s all come early and celebrate good music.” The renowned DJ who produced different hits like ‘Nyunvira’ and ‘Pull Up’ also clarifies that his fans will be able to buy some collections of his brand at the event including t-shirts and hoodies with ‘The Toxxyk Experience’ logo. The event will take place this Saturday, April 2 at Norrsken Hub Kigali from 5pm to 10pm, and entrance is Rwf10, 000.
