Pascal Tuyisenge, Secretary General of the Rwanda Handball Federation (Ferwahand), is in Kenya for the launch of a new initiative to develop handball coaching in the East African region. The eight-day event was organized by the Kenya Handball Federation in partnership with the National Olympic Committee of Kenya as they seek to aid the progression of the sport, enhance capacity and also train coaches. Hungarian Zoltan Marczinka has been named by the International Handball Federation as the lead instructor of the course, and those successful will attain a level C coaching certificate. According to the technical director of the Kenya Handball Federation, Charles Omondi, it is the first time is held in the region and it is ‘good for the development’ of the sport. Its quite a milestone since its the first time we are having such a training in the region. Omondi was quoted as saying in local media. The participants who are undertaking the training are from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia.
