Bright Rucogoza aka B Bright is back after six months with a new single that reflects on the rise of depression among the youth today, and all they go through in life. His music journey began in 2010 at the age of 11, he was called in by a studio owner near his home after being told he (Bright) had talent. The first born of two, Bright grew up listening to music and enjoyed singing and performing for other kids when he was in primary school. Currently doing afro-beat, he sees himself as a diverse artiste who can take on genres and also dance. “My music focuses mostly on what is happening around me. I make sad and happy songs, I also sing about love, depression and healing. My new single ‘Abazimu’ talks about depression, mostly among the youth, based on all the challenges they go through. I talk about all the feelings they have when they go through depression and I explain that getting help and talking to people can help get one through it,” says Bright. Bright was a member of Young Super Crew, a boy band in 2012, alongside young rapper Babou. He left the band because it was affecting his studies, and his parents decided that it was better for him to focus on studies first. He reveals that another reason for the break-up was lack of financial support but that the break enabled him to find means to make songs. “I believe my music will take me to an international level as long as I keep working hard and don’t give up. As my name says, my future is bright with God blessings and I hope to reach where big artistes have in music,” he says.
