The City of Kigali has started setting up smart bus stop shelters which will be equipped with facilities like LED advertising and entertainment screens, LED lighting, WiFi and other accessories like charging ports. Earlier this week, employees of the city started removing the old bus shelters in various parts of the city in order to replace them with the new smart ones. According to information shared by the city’s administration via Twitter, the first phase of the project is going to start with the construction of 20 new bus shelters along the Airport-Chez Lando- Gishushu- Kimihurura-Payage road. They are expected to be finished before the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) takes place in Kigali in June.
