Samuel Dusengiyumva was re-elected on Thursday, August 22, as the Mayor of the City of Kigali, a position he had held for nine months. Dusengimana, who was the sole candidate for the position, got all the 397 valid votes cast, according to the National Electoral Commission. Fulgence Dusabimana was re-elected Vice Mayor in Charge of Urbanisation and Infrastructure, while Martine Urujeni was remained as Vice Mayor in charge of Socio-Economic Affairs. Dusengiyumva is one of the six councillors for the City of Kigali, appointed by President Paul Kagame on Wednesday. Prior to that, Dusengiyumva was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government.
