Local drivers had their reccing session over the weekend and gave mixed reactions over some sections of the route. According to Uganda’s daily monitor, Competitive Section (CS) 3 Buloba - Bujuuko (14.26km), CS6 Kikonge – Sekanyonyi (15.67km), CS7 Kito – Bakijulula (10.16km) and CS10 Kijoji – Mityana (18.05km) are very rough with deep potholes. The KCB Pearl of Africa rally, the third tier on the FIA Africa Rally Championship (ARC) and second round of the inaugural East African rally Challenge starts on Friday with a Super Special Stage (SSS) at Jomayi Kawuku Estate. KCB, the official sponsors, are set to cash in on the event with a package estimated at ($50,000). Meanwhile, South Africa’s Richard Gow has been appointed as the technical delegate for the event.
