The last few weeks have been good for Rwanda’s music industry as artistes kept releasing back to back hits that are currently trending in the country. In no particular order, Weekender highlights some of the best new songs to add to your weekend playlist. Ndakwikundira, B Face ft Alyn Sano After dropping ‘Fake Gee’ and ‘Radiyo’, Alyne Sano, one of a few female musicians making rounds in the country, is taking her music career on another level by featuring international acts starting from a Burundian star, B Face. Sano recently appeared on ‘Ndakwikundira’, B Face’s new tune which is now trending everywhere in Burundi and Rwanda. The Afro beat song was produced by The Major and has close to 100, 000 streams on different platforms in its first week. Nukuri, Major Phablah ft Kivumbi king Fast rising rapper Major Phablah recently released a new banger featuring one of the most loved musicians in the country at the moment, Kivumbi King. The collabo came out on October 16, and is played everywhere from clubs to house parties and pubs of Kigali Fabrice Ishimwe who rose to stardom as Phablah, is also a video director, fashionista, and rapper, who has been in the industry for some time now. His love for music dates back to when he was five years old, singing in the children’s choir in Gisozi, a Kigali suburb. Rambadada, Uncle Austin After a long time without making a hit song, Uncle Austin made a comeback with ‘Rambadada’, a single track making rounds in pubs and clubs of Kigali. It is his first single since he released ‘Dupfa Iki’ one year ago. Rambadada premiered on October 11, and has generated over 100, 000 views on YouTube. Produced by Element in Afro beat genre, the song is among the most trending tracks in Rwanda. Bipe, Khalifan Govinda ft Social Mula Hip hop sensation Khalifan Govinda has teamed up with his longtime collaborator, social Mula, in his recently released track dubbed ‘Bipe’. The duo’s collabo is one of the best tracks produced by Santana, a fast rising producer who is making back to back hits in the region. The Afrobeats song sparked public’s attention after Instagram model Amy appeared in its video directed by Ligana. The song has close to 200, 000 views on YouTube within less than a month. Twari Broke, Ish Kevin ft Ririmba and Ehlers After spending months without releasing projects, drill stars of Kigali, Ish Kevin and Ririmba, blessed music lovers with a new track dubbed ‘Twari Broke’. The song produced by Ehlers who is the youngest producer in Rwanda appeared on R.M.H’s new album titled ‘Ndigukaba’. The track narrates early life of young Rwandan rappers before they rose to stardom as well as how they started making music without money and support. It is the most trending song on the 13-track album which premiered on October 8.
