KEVIN SEMANA popularly known as Ish Kevin is going to feature a renowned Nigerian musician namely Ycee on his upcoming mixtape slated for March 25. The upcoming artiste confirmed the big move to this publication in an exclusive interview. Dubbed Trappish mixtape 2, the long awaited project also holds big names in the industry such as Kivumbi King, Confy and Yannick YMK, one of the pioneers of Kinya Trap. Talking to The New Times, Ish Kevin noted that working with Ycee isn’t just a win for him and the Trappish movement, but the whole Rwandan music industry. He said that this song will give all music lovers a flavour of the mixed cultures of Rwandan rap and Nigerian afro-pop. “After releasing this mixtape, there is no going back. This is a game changing project,” he said. Adding to that, Ish Kevin said that he became part of the deal of collaborating with Ycee through his manager Osagi who liked the sound of Rwandan rap and became interested in putting the two talents in one track. The song which Ish Kevin describes as a banger was produced by a renowned producer, Bailey Pro. Other songs on the track-list include ‘My Year’, ‘Generation’, ‘Aho Turi’, ‘Powa’, ‘Game Changers’, and ‘Ndi Rasta’. Ycee, real name Oludemilade Martin Alejo, gained popularity after his single ‘Omo Alhaji’, and later took over after his most successful hit ‘Juice’ with vocals by Patoranking.
