Yusuf Ndayishimiye and Honore Kabongo scored the goals for Raoul Shungu’s side while the defeat means La Jeunesse are the only team certain of getting relegated. After the game, Shungu said that his team just like APR and Atraco are all still in the race to win the league title. “Every thing is possible. We are still confident of winning the league title despite our position in the table. “Our target remains the league but we must take it step by step. Our game with Atraco on May 9 could decide a lot as far as the league title is concerned,” Shungu said. The win moved Rayon to 39 points, level with rivals APR, who lost over the weekend to Atraco but the military side are second courtesy of a better goal difference of 28 goals to Rayon’s 17 with four matches left. On Saturday, former APR striker Andre Lomami scored late in the game to give Atraco a 1-0 win over their closest title rivals. Atraco leads the standings with 43 points. Elsewhere on Sunday, Electrogaz moved to fourth position with 24 points after a 5-0 thrashing of Kibuye at Kicukiro. Hamisi Bagumaho scored a brace while Simon Nyamugenda, Hamad Ruzinga and Alphonse Salum were on target for Electrogaz. Pappy Nkunda scored the consolation for Kibuye. AS-Kigali won 2-1 away to Marines at Umuganda stadium. Amin Muzerwa and Pablo Nduwimana netted for Eric Nshimiyimana’s team while Assuman Bizimana scored Marines. Mukura was held to a 1-all draw at home by Police. Robert Ujeneza scored for Police while Ndayisenga Mbanyi equalized for Mukura. Kiyovu gave their survival hopes a big lift with a crucial 1-0 win away at Amagaju in Nyamagabe thanks to James Uwimana. The win moved Kiyovu eighth position with 20 points. Ends
