Anatoliy Volodimirovich Budyak who rides for Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team on Friday clinched the sixth stage of this year’s Tour du Rwanda from Musanze to Kigali City. The Ukrainian rider, who is making his first appearance in the annual UCI Africa Tour race used 3 hours, 35 minutes and 21 seconds for the 152km distance. Rwanda’s Eric Manizabayo (Benediction Ignite) came in third place five seconds behind the stage winner. “Our objective is to win the top prize. Now that I have the yellow jersey, we will fight to protect it in the next stage,” Budyak said. Meanwhile, in the General Classification, Androni Gio rider Natneal Tesfazio leads the table with 17 hours 33 minutes and 13 seconds, three seconds ahead of Budyak. Manizabayo is in 10th place while Eric Muhoza dropped from eight place to 11th. On Saturday, riders will start from Nyamirambo to Gicumbi and return to Kigali.
