Azam FC head coach Youssouph Dabo has hinted at the approach his team will use against APR FC in the second leg of the preliminary qualifiers of the CAF Champions League. The Tanzanian club won the first leg 1-0 on Sunday, August 18 at the Azam Sports Complex, thanks to a Jhonier Blanco penalty. As the two teams prepare for the second leg which will take place on August 24 in Kigali, Dabo says his team not only needs to be prepared defensively, but also ensure that it uses its goal scoring chances efficiently. We achieved our target in the first leg which was to win though the margin was narrow, Dabo said in an interview. We know in the second leg in Kigali, APR will come at us from the start, so we need to be prepared defensively and capitalise on our chances, he added. The aggregate winner over the two games is expected to face Pyramids FC of Egypt which seems to be all but qualified for the next round after humiliating Zanzibar champions JKU 6-0 in the first leg.
