Producer David Mucyo alias Madebeats has blessed his fans and music lovers with an 8-track project dubbed ‘Kigali’. The long awaited album which premiered on Thursday February 17, is already taking Kigali by storm over its creativity and appearance of some renowned local artistes. Bruce Melodie, Mike Kayihura, Kenny Kshot, Deejay Pius and Maestroboomin are some of the big names that appeared on the album. According to Madebeats, this project was produced as a way of expressing himself musically, but also to add new energetic sounds to the Rwandan music industry. “I just wanted to make music straight from my feelings without any influence,” he said, “I want to do what I think is good without following the trends”. The ‘Ubushyuhe’ hit maker also added that naming this project Kigali is a way to identify his roots and also to alert the world that Kigali is a city that will soon take over musically. “Madebeats is a brand that was born in Kigali. We are trying to push our music as far as possible but also not forgetting our origin,” he added. On why he chose to feature upcoming artistes, the 26- year -old revealed that he has been collaborating with big musicians for a long time and it’s time to taste the merging talents. For him, Rwanda is now witnessing a rise of new talents with a different kind of wave of genres and lyrics, which is why he wanted to tap in to the younger generation like Kenny k shot, Maestro, and Mike Kayihura in order to get that new vibe in the music industry. The piece which spent more than one year in the making, has touches of renowned musicians in the country such as Etienne Ishimwe, the bassist, Arsene Nimpagaritse, one of the best electric guitar players in Rwanda, alongside Jules Hirwa who is also behind guitar melodies of many songs on the project. “Anyone that will listen to the album will feel the vibe. The message is through what people will hear,” Producer Madebeats added. Tracks like ‘We Go’, ‘Pessa’, ‘On It’, ‘Ratata’ are already trending on different streaming platforms.
