Famous ‘Dior’ hit maker, Ruger, alongside AV, a young Nigerian artiste behind the making of ‘Big Thug Boys’, are set to entertain music lovers in Kigali on February 19, organisers have confirmed. DJ SL, one of the best in Nigeria, is also among the guest performers to headline the show. The event which will take place at Canal Olympia Rebero is being organised by a new entertainment company named Drip City Ent. It will be the first time this year, hosting international artistes after the re-opening of concerts and shows. Fast rising artiste Okkama, Ariel Ways, DJ Toxxyk, and Symphony Band are among other local artistes who will perform the event. Diane Abubakar, one of the organisers of the event told this publication that this is one of many events which Drip City Ent will bring to Rwanda this year. This, she said, is Drip City’s first time to host international artistes, but in June and July, they are planning to throw some of the biggest parties of the year. Sharing what attracted their attention in Ruger and AV, Abubakar said that the two kids are among the trending and most loved musicians on the continent with hits which can make a perfect party. “Ruger’s Snap and Dior are tracks which are taking over globally, the same as AV’s Confession. They are young and the youth love them. We are sure they will give us a night to remember,” she said “This is the right way to start the year. Michael Adebayo Olayinka popularly known as Ruger started music at a very tender age, and was a member of his school music band as a teenager and also a member of his church choir. He was discovered by DPrince, a renowned Nigerian singer, who announced his signing to Jonzing World and Sony Music Entertainment UK, in a joint venture with Columbia Records. He achieved mainstream recognition with the release of his debut extended play and its hit track Bounce, which became his major hit, and reached number one on Apple Music in Nigeria, and other African countries. ‘Snap’ and ‘Dior’ are among his trending tracks at the moment in the music scene worldwide. Who is AV? Adindu Victor, professionally known as AV is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He ventured into music professionally in 2018 and released his first successful song in 2020, the song was titled “Temperature”. His most notable song so far, “Big Thug Boys” was released on June 4, 2020 and currently has over 10 million streams on music platforms. ‘Confession’ is one of AV’s tracks which are taking over on airwaves and televisions worldwide.
