Rayon scored their goals courtesy of Bogota Labama (48) and Jimmy Kidega (53). The Blues had majority of ball possession throughout the 90 minutes as the taxi-men club failed to capitalize on their vital goal coring chances which were wasted by their new signing Mohammed Abdullah a.k.a Machupa in the opening minutes of the game. Midfielder Case Kalisa played vital role in Rayon’s midfield as he produced two brilliant chips to his team mates who were on target for the blues in the second half. However, Atraco’s poor performance was noticed in the defense line-up which proved shaky with the absence of Bonaventure Hategikimana while Ismail Nshutinamagara featured in yesterday’s game unfit. Rayon Coach, Antoinne Rutsindura hailed his players for the battling out of the game with a deserved victory and opted to concentrate on their next fixture against Etincelles tomorrow. “As I had I said before the game, the victory has been ours. We have a long battle to fight for the Primus league trophy,” the former AS-Kigali and Zebra coach noted. He added, “Atraco game is over and my thoughts are on our next fixture against Etincelles on Tuesday. We have to win all the remaining fixtures if we are going to have a chance of challenging for the league title.” However, his opposite number of Atraco Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira attributed the loss to injured and unfit players. “We could have walked away with victory but the injury crisis in my camp resulted in the loss,” noted the former APR tactician. He acknowledged, “Our defense was shaky and that’s gave room for their strikers to score goals. The entire team played well but the strikers (Machupa and Martin Muwanga) failed to capitalize on the good chances they got.” Ntagwabira further added that despite the defeat, his team is very much till in the running for the league title. He said, “We have not given up on the title; we have to win the remaining fixtures because they may also lose their fixtures and capitalize on their losses too.” Rayon goes to second spot of the primus league table with 48 points, one behind APR who were held to a goalless draw by Kiyovu on Saturday while.
