The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dismissed Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac with immediate effect following the countrys poor 2021 AFCON outing in Cameroon. The Serbian tactician was sacked on Saturday, January 22 following a meeting between the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the Ghana Football Association. Initially, the GFA were reluctant to sack the Serbian but the Ministry had to use force before they complied with the directives. Aside from the firing of Rajevac, the Black Stars management team led by Geotge Amoako has also been dissolved and a new one will be set up soon as the Black Stars will assemble in March for the 2022 World Cup play offs. Rajevac who attained cult status in Ghana after guiding the team to the quarter finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa was appointed last year in September to help the country win the AFCON in Cameroon and also qualify the nation to the world cup failed woefully in Cameroon by finishing last in a Group comprising of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
