Richard Nyirishema, the vice-president of the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA), has been named the new Minister of Sports as President Paul Kagame appointed a new cabinet following his inauguration. A communique issued by the Prime Minister’s office on Friday, August 16 announced the new cabinet consisting of 21 ministers and nine state ministers who will serve for the next five years. Nyirishema succeeds Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju, who had held the position since November 2019.
