AS KIGALI have terminated the contract of Ghanaian defender Lamine Moro through mutual agreement. Moro, 27, joined the Citizens on a two-year deal last September and was paid a signing on fee of $20,000, making it the most expensive transfer in the transfer window. The former Young Africans SC left-back, however, failed to live up to expectations and featured in only one game, against DC Motema Pembe in the CAF Confederation Cup. Both parties decided that the best thing was to cancel the contract after the player failed to cement a place in the team and Times Sport can confirm he has now joined Iraqi outfit Newroz FC on a two-year deal in the ongoing transfer window. Moro started his career with West Africa Academy on Ghana and went on to play for Hasaacas, Liberty Professionals, Al Riyadg FC in Saudi Arabia, as well as Young Africans where he was the assistant captain before moving to AS Kigali.
