WHILE COVID 19 has postponed many weddings in 2020, as social gatherings including weddings were prohibited, whenever restrictions were lifted, celebrities took advantage of the situtaion and tied the knot. 2021 has seen many celebrities tie the knot in small and large weddings and proved that love wins, even in the wake of a pandemic. Here are some the biggest weddings of stars who tied the knot so far in 2021. Grace and Pacifique Miss Rwanda 2009 Grace Bahati tied the knot with Pacifique Murekezi on September 4, in a glamorous wedding attended by relatives, friends and different Rwandan celebrities in Virginia, USA. Their relationship went public in December 2018, when Grace posted a photo captioning it ‘He has made this year amazing’. Meddy and Mimi U.S-based singer Médard Jobert Ngabo and Mimi Mehfira have been dating since 2016. After 4 years, the singer popped the question to the beautiful Mimi in a colourful event in Dallas, on December 18, 2020, which happened to be Mimi’s birthday. The two tied the knot in May 22 in a colourful wedding that was hosted in a castle-like mansion in Texas. Platini and Olivia Singer Platini Nemeye and Olivia Ingabire tied the knot in an intimate wedding on March 27. The two had their civil wedding on March 6, a few days before their church wedding. The couple has been in a relationship for six years. Jacques and Jordin APR forward Jacques Tuyisenge and Jordin Musiime tied the knot on August 21, in a colourful wedding. The two kept their relationship low key until Tuyisenge proposed to Jordin in February 18. They had a civil wedding the next day in Nyamata, Bugesera where Tuyisenge resides. Joannah and Michael Former beauty queen and Miss Heritage 2015, Joannah Keza Bagwire and Michael Murinzi tied the knot in November 14 in a colourful wedding at Gisozi. They kept their relationship a secret until when the Kiss FM host said yes to her lover on September 27. “We have decided on forever, my love thank you for giving this life a meaning,” she posted. Lague and Kelia APR FC striker Lague Byiringiro tied the knot with Kelia Uwase on December 7, in a glamorous wedding. The two were beaming with smiles as danced during their reception. The 21-year-old has known Kelia since 2018, and they never hid their love for each other ever since. Patient and Gentille Renowned gospel singer Patient Bizimana and Gentille Uwera tied the knot last Sunday, December 19 at Gisozi. The couple, especially Bizimana, made their relationship public last year. They had a civil wedding in 2019 but covid-19 kept interrupting with their wedding plans Emmy and Joyce US-based Rwandan musician Emmanuel Nsengiyumva “Emmy” and his boo, Joyce Umuhoza tied the knot in Tanzania’s coastal city of Dar es Salaam on Sunday, December 19.
