The use of BK App and Internet Banking to make transactions like paying taxes and water bills, is part of the bank’s efforts to promote a cashless economy. The call is in line with the bank’s digital payment campaign dubbed “Jyana nIgihe (Move with the times)” aimed to increase the adoption and usage of BK’s digital Through Bank of Kigali’s digital channels, customers can pay taxes, water bills, government services and much more at no extra cost without making unnecessary trips to the lender’s branches. We launched Jyana nIgihe campaign to encourage our customers to register for BK App or Internet Banking to pay their taxes, water bills and much more anytime, anywhere. “Our message to Bank of Kigali customers who still come to our branches for taxes and bill payments is to embrace change because making these payments with our digital channels is easy, convenient and free, said Audrey Kazera, Bank of Kigalis Head of Marketing. The lender’s officials added that embracing digital payment channels is also helping to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Clients who are not yet registered on BK’s digital channels can call 4455 or visit the nearest branch to get on-boarded. “Our long-term vision is ultimately to eliminate trips to branches, making the lives of customers a lot easier, and to use technology to widen the variety of financial services that are available. To achieve this, it is important that we transition into an organization that is more digitally native by investing in human capacity which allows us to understand, manipulate and even build the technologies that we use to achieve our business objectives and serve our customers” said Obinna J.
