Up and coming female artiste Emerance Bwiza is preparing to present her music to her music fans in Bugesera District ahead of a homecoming concert slated to take place at Palast Rock Hotel, in Nyamata. Dubbed ‘Bwiza Homecoming Concert’, the concert is being organised by KIKAC Music, as part of the management label’s promotional plans to push the singer’s music to a bigger music community starting from her home place. It will be her first time performing on a big stage since she started her music career. “When I think about my performance at the upcoming concert, I get mixed feelings of fear, excitement and curiosity about how my home audience will welcome me and their support as well. It normally feels good to perform for your home fans,” said the 23-year-old singer. Bwiza who hails from Nyamata, says introducing her name as a musician, beginning with the audience from her home town, has always been a good choice for her although she does not take any of her music supporters for granted. “I just wanted to start performing before my home fans because they deserve to be the first to witness the blessing I’ve got as a musician,” she said. Bwiza is the product of The Next Diva music contest, a platform introduced by KIKAC Music with the aim to discover young female artistes and give them a platform to grow their music talent, after realising that a huge number of young girls let their talent in music go to waste due to lack of support in terms of music production and promotion opportunities for their music. She won the contest in June this year, beating 30 other female contestants and has since signed to do her music under the management of KIKAC Music. The singer hailed KIKAC’s initiative for giving a platform to female artistes whose music has for years been lagging behind and outshined by men’s dominance in the game. “So many young women have their dreams of becoming artistes short-lived because they don’t have such a platform to showcase what they can offer to the music industry. Thanks to the contest, I am thriving in music and my fellow female artists have regained hope that they can make it in music,” she said. Since signing, she has so far released two singles namely ‘Available’ and ‘Yiwe’. She is expected to drop her third song next week but still targets to have released at least five more tracks before her homecoming concert. Fellow artistes Riderman, Mico The Best, Social Mula, Kevin Skaa and Chris Eazy will join the young music diva to the stage to entertain music lovers in Bugesera and help them usher Christmas in style. With them on the lineup, Bwiza said that her music supporters in her hometown can only expect the best from the concert as she hails the support that her. “Having Riderman and Mico The Best among other artistes by my side at the concert shows me that I am not alone in this journey. It’s a huge support for me that I owe everyone to make good use of it,” she said. Tickets to attend the concert are already available at Rwf3, 000 and Rwf5, 000 at the gate.
