Ghanaian defender Stephen Bonney has signed a two-year deal with newly promoted Rwanda Primus National League side Vision FC. The talented centre back inked the deal on Monday, August 12, crossing over from Bugesera FC after the expiry of his contract with the club. Bonney, 26, is a left footed guardsman who can also operate as a left back. During his time at Bugesera FC, he can be remembered for netting the team’s lone goal against Rayon Sports as they reached the Peace Cup final. The Rwandan transfer market has recently become more attractive for Ghanaian players with a number of them signing for various clubs. For instance, during the current transfer window, champions APR signed Richard Lamptey and Dauda Yussif, while Police FC acquired Issah Yakubu, as Mukura also added Abdul Jalilu to their squad. In addition to that, Vincent Adams and Agyenim Boateng also joined Mukura VS, and now Vision has signed Stephen Bonney. Vision FC, known for their youth empowerment programmes through football, earned promotion to the Rwanda Premier League this year after 13 years in the second division.
