KOFFI OLOMIDE, a renowned Congolese legendary musician is set to entertain music lovers in Kigali on December 4, organisers of the show confirm. The event will take place at Kigali Arena. Koffi Olomide, real name Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba is a 65-year-old soukous singer and dancer born in Kisangani. The Congolese music icon follows a number of big artistes who have been partying in Kigali since the beginning of November such as Adekunle Gold, Omah Lay and the Nigerian Afro-beat star Rema who performed last weekend. Koffi also confirmed his performance at the Kigali Arena on his social media platform where he shared a video. “Good morning Rwanda, I am happy to be in Kigali,” he said. He will perform the same day as Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ric Hassani, is also expected to perform at Kigali Convention Center, in concerts dubbed ‘Fantasy Music Concerts’, organised by Symphony Band. Speaking about this concert, Bruce Intore, founder of Intore Entertainment said they expect a kind of different show as Koffi attracts different types of people and expects a huge crowd to turn out the night of the concert. “We have been organising events for a long time and the progress over the years is that now we have better facilities for the show and that is something we are very happy for. Fans also can now buy tickets online which was not the case in previous years,” he said. The singer, whose famous songs include Selfie, Effrakata, and Dossier du Jour among others will be performing in Kigali for the second time since 2016. The concert will also feature different Rwandan artistes whom the organizers preferred to keep anonymous in the meantime. Tickets for the event are available for early birds at Rwf10,000 for regular, Rwf30, 000 VIP, Rwf50, 000 for VVIP areas and Rwf500,000 for a table of six people.
