The Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, along with his delegation visited the Rwanda Defence Force Headquarters, on Monday, August 12. According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, Gen Kainerugaba and his delegation were received by Gen Mubarakh Muganga, the RDF Chief of Defence Staff. The UPDF delegation and RDF leadership held a bilateral meeting focusing on enhancing the existing bilateral defence cooperation between the two defence forces. While speaking to the media, Gen Muhoozi underlined that the visit provided an opportunity to discuss ways of enhancing the historical defence cooperation between both armies with a focus on ongoing defence projects including training, among other aspects. Gen Muhoozi, who is in Rwanda since August 10, also attended the inauguration ceremony of President Paul Kagame, earlier on Sunday.
