The Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) has confirmed that 14 clubs will participate in the first edition of the Taxpayers’ tournament which will take place from Saturday, November 27 to Sunday, 28. The tournament group stages will be held at Petit Stade and Maison des Jeunes – Kimisagara, while the final game is expected to take place at the Kigali Arena. The teams that will compete in the tournament are: Gisagara, IPRC-Ngoma, KVC, Ex UTB, REG, Kirehe, and APR in men category, while in Women category, Ruhango, RRA, IPRC-Huye, KVC, Ex UTB, St Aloys and APR. According to the FRVB, the prize money for the winning team will be Rwf 2 million, while the runners up will walk away with Rwf 1.5 million. The third-placed team will bag Rwf 1 million. More than 25 million will be invested in the tournament which is meant to appreciate tax payers in the country. It should be noted that currently, RRA is celebrating the taxpayers month, and as part of that, RRA partnered with FRVB to organise the tournament. After the taxpayer’s tournament, teams will gear up for the Gisagara tournament, a preseason competition for men’s teams set for December 4 to 5. The league is scheduled to start on December 10 and will be played for one month.
