SC Kiyovu head coach Francis Haringingo has fired a warning to City rivals AS Kigali that his club only wants to win the game as the pair prepare for a derby day in match day two of the Rwanda Premier League on Tuesday at Kigali stadium. The Mumena-based club began the new league campaign perfectly after seeing off Gorilla FC in narrow 1-0 victory on Saturday as Ismael Nshimiyimana scored the lone goal that separated the two sides at Kigali Stadium. “We are happy to grab our first three points of the league campaign and we wish to carry on in the next fixtures. Whether you win, draw or lose, mistakes are committed on the pitch but the more we play games, the more the mistakes will hopefully be addressed,” Haringingo said after the game. Haringingo’s Green Baggies host league title favorites AS Kigali in their match day two on Tuesday, November 2, a fixture that the Burundian tactician warned is a ‘must-win’ for a side whose prime target of the season is the league title. They, however, share the same target with the City of Kigali-sponsored club who comfortably beat Espoir FC 2-0 in Rusizi thanks to goals from attacking duo Abubakar Lawal and Shabani Hussein ‘Tchabalala’ to start their title race on a high note after losing it to APR FC last season just on goal difference. Haringingo said he is preparing his boys to cope with the threat posed by Eric Nshimiyimana’s high flying boys while he warned that a victory is the only result he is looking forward to from the fixture. “They have been playing African Club competitions and have already caught a rhythm but we are also going to work hard so we can win the derby,” Haringingo said of AS Kigali. The former Mukura VS and Police FC joined Kiyovu SC shortly after he parted ways with Police FC who sacked him after failing to lead them to the league title last season. He is now aware that the only way to keep his job safe is to inspire Kiyovu SC to their first league title in 28 years after he agreed to win the league title with them this season. He will be relying on the services and experience of Ugandan duo Emmanuel Okwi and Muzamiru Mutyaba who he is confident will pose a major threat to AS Kigali when the two sides square off on Tuesday.
