The Japan Karate Association Rwanda (JKA-RWANDA) is set to host the 5th edition of the JKA-RWANDA Technical Seminar and Dan Grading in Kigali, led by Masaru Kamino Shihan, an experienced Japanese instructor (8th Dan). Slated for August 14-18, the seminar aims to provide an opportunity for karate practitioners in Rwanda to learn from high-level instructors and improve their skills. Speaking to Times Sports, JKA-Rwanda Director Guy Rurangayire assured that preparations are on track for a smooth seminar. We are almost there; the preparations are almost done. Registration is still open, and so far, we have 60 local Karatekas registered. We expect more than 100 to attend the seminar, he said. Six countries have confirmed their participation so far, including Japan (five Karate masters), the United Kingdom (one Karate master and three students), South Africa (one Karate master and JKA Sub-Sahara Region Director Daniel Gombe), Zambia (four Karate masters), as well as Uganda and Kenya, who are yet to confirm their representatives.
