Rwanda Handball Federation (RHF) will organize the Coupe de Rwanda tournament for the first time since 2015 on Saturday. The competition is expected to run from October 23 to 31. The courts that will be used for the competition are; Kimisagara, Amahoro Stadium, Bugesera, and Remera while finals will take place at Amahoro Stadium on October 31. 28 teams will participate in the Coupe de Rwanda tournament in both the men’s and womens categories. Twelve teams will be competing in three pools in the women’s category while the men’s category has 16. Police are in Pool A alongside UR Rusizi, Gicumbi, and Ruhango while defending champion in the women’s fray has Kiziguro SS which will take on University of Rwanda, Remera campus, University of Rwanda, Rwamagana campus, and University of Rwanda, Huye campus. Teams have been urged to start training and follow guidelines related to prevention of coronavirus that the Ministry of Sports recently outlined. The competition will also help to prepare the players for the 25th edition of the African men’s handball championship from January 13 to 23 2022 in Morocco.
