BPR Bank Rwanda Plc, through its Igire programme—a youth empowerment initiative that has up-skilled over 800 youth and provided seed capital for over 40 businesses to date—launched the Igire Alumni Club on August 7. This aligns with a global month dedicated to celebrating the youth. The launch of the Igire Alumni Club marks a new chapter in the BPR Igire programme, celebrating the successes of its participants and setting the stage for future innovation and leadership among Rwanda’s youth. All alumni of the Igire programme will be joining the club. He said the formation of the alumni club is proof of the programme’s success, exceeding initial expectations. “This alumni club is more than just a gathering of individuals; it is a dynamic platform that embodies the very essence of what we aimed to achieve with the BPR Igire programme,” he said. Bitok highlighted the club’s role as a space for idea-sharing, business showcasing, and continuous learning and growth. By coming together, he said the alumni are not only forming a network but also building a community of innovators and leaders who will shape their futures and pave the way for future generations.
