AT ONLY 18, Anthony Moses Ehlers has already produced hits that are taking Kigali by storm. You have certainly heard ‘It’s Ehlers on the track’ in many Rwandan hit songs released in recent months. It is a journey that he started in 2018, by just playing with FL Studio, a music production software. Ehlers might be new in the industry, but he needs no introduction to Trap and Drill fans, as he has produced hits in these styles. His inspiration came from the drive and passion to know how to create music. “Since I was young and had too much time on my hands, I had to do something as a hobby and then it turned into a career” he says. Ehlers says production isn’t something that necessarily needs courses. However, by hanging around in studio sessions with friends and watching youtube tutorials, one can get enough skills to make music. When asked about the genre he makes, he said, “I make the most popular genre. I really don’t have a side, Im versatile when it comes to music. I like to know new things and surpass my limits.” In addition, the first-rising-producer says that music is also his escape from reality and problems of this world. “The good part of being able to produce music is the thrill of waiting for the world to hear your imagination and thoughts then vibe with it” he adds. Ehlers produces at Loud Sound Music and Prolific studio, and also plays music instruments such as piano and drums. He has so far produced for different artistes like Kenny k-shot, Derek Ymg, Ish Kevin, maestro Boomin, Bushali, Logan Joe and many more. Some of the tracks he produced include ‘Feel My Pain’, ‘Run It Up’, ‘Hejuru Iriya’ and many more others.
