Rayon Sports Women Football Club captain Alice Kalimba has said her team is ready for the upcoming qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League. Slated for August 17 through September 4, the qualifiers have Rayon Sports rub shoulders with teams including Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Kenya Police Bullets FC, Yei Joint FC from South Sudan, and Warriors FC from Zanzibar. The teams will play against each other, so that the one which tops the group will qualify for the champions league. “We are used to competitive situations. We are all really hungry and also mentally fit right now. We know what this means to us,” she said. These qualifier games will take place in Ethiopia. “We have to make sure we are wide awake in the tournament. Any mistake can be quickly punished,” she added. Their victories have earned them the opportunity to represent Rwanda in the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
