NPC to sensitize sports scribes

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) plans to organize a one-day seminar for local sports journalists. According to the NPC president Dominique Bizimana, the seminar will take place on Friday 24 April, at the committee’s offices located at Amahoro national stadium, Remera. The sports scribes, Bizimana said will be sensitized about different facts about sports for people with disabilities. The NPC will also give detailed information to the journalists about various sports for people with disabilities in the country and the terminologies used in Paralympic Games. Bizimana said the seminar is crucial for the sports journalists in order for them to report accurately. “We want to equip the sports scribes with all the technicalities used in sports for people with disabilities and also brief them about what NPC has been doing for the last four years. “Also our sponsors like Laureus for Good foundation and VSO Rwanda will be looking forward to meet them (sports journalists),” he told Times Sport. Meanwhile, the third phase of the men’s sitting volley ball and the women’s sit ball tournaments is set to start early next month in Musanze. Clubs that have confirmed their participation include; Intwari, THT, Nyanza, Musanze, Kivu, Kagoma, Karongi, Rusizi and The National University of Rwanda (UNR). Intwari won the second phase of the men’s sitting volley ball tournament while UNR won the women’s sit ball tourney. Ends
