Preparations are underway for the grand finale of the second edition of Inganji Performing Arts and Comedy Awards that are scheduled for October 30. The awards recognise the best performing comedians in the Rwandan film industry, as well as the best theatre players on stage, radio or drama. At the awards, nominees who got votes allowing them to be on the final stage will be awarded for their achievements in Rwandan entertainments this year. The voting process started on August 5 and ended on September 20, although the categories which will all depend on the internet votes and the panel’s decision. Isae Kalinda, CEO of the Talent Care Performing Arts, Media and Films group, told The New Times that some movies that were made are Gitera Film, Igihirahiro Series, Ca Inkoni Zamba as well as other arts and film projects. “The Inganji Awards 2021 official nominees are in 9 different categories in both men and women but all based among the Rwandan industry of arts and films performers,” Kalinda says. Apart from the Inganji Awards the group does theatre and film productions and manages actors for both theatre and film (Actors Agency/ Casting Center). The categories include the best female actors, Best Theatre Player, the Best Comedy Male Actor, and Best Comedy Female Actress. Best Poetry Male Actor, Best Poetry Female Actor, and Best Modern Dance Female. In each category there is more than one nominee, while the influencer category of the year has 3 nominees, both male and female. The best film of the year category has 10 films among web series and 6 films among the TV series. In the film actors of the year category, themale category nominees are 20 while in females they are 27. In the script writers for films category the nominees are only 4. In the comedy category the nominees are 9 in male and 2 nominees in female category. In the poetry category of both male and female nominees are 3. In the theatre category the male Radio drama actors are 9 and 12 in the female category. In the script writer for Radio Drama are 4 male nominees and 1 female nominee.
