MUSIC PRODUCER Ayoo Rash has produced numerous popular songs in less than a year and is establishing an empire showcasing true abilities in Rwandan musicians. Real name Élisée Raha, the 22-year-old is a Rwandan music producer who was introduced to music when he came to Rwanda in 2017, as a pianist and began documenting himself in music production, establishing a name for himself. “I never imagined myself as a music producer, but it has now become a passion,” Raha added. Ayo Rush did his high school in RDC and afterward came to Rwanda to pursue his university studies. “I woke up and started documenting myself, I can’t say I chose music, but music chose me,” said Raha in an interview with The New Times. The collaboration with Rwandan musicians is going very well. They make me feel at home, and the projects are a huge success,” said Raha Ayo Rash has produced several songs, some of which have been dubbed summer anthems. ‘Away,’ ‘Please Me’, ‘La Vida Loca,’ ‘Brigade’, ‘Puluh’, and ‘Mayor’ are some of them. He claims that the key to making the finest sound is to trust his instincts, which he says he does effectively. “The best thing about being a producer is when one of the musicians with whom I collaborate achieves great success, and I was a part of the project,” Raha remarked. Raha pointed out some challenges in music production. “Sometimes a project is released, and people start to criticize, but that’s something twe just have to cope with,” said Raha His main inspiration is Dj Snake and adds that he is grateful for his family and friends support. Asked about his plans, Raha said that he wants to expose the natural talent that lies in Rwandan artists, which is why he has bigger plans than what he is doing now. “I plan to work hand in hand with other producers and expose the real talent in Rwandan artists, especially upcoming ones,” said Rash. “The Rwandan music industry, being young, is growing at an excellent pace. In coming years, it’ll be even bigger,” he added. He advised young people who aspire to produce music to go pursue their passion and give it time while learning. With the number of hit songs hes produced in the last few months, Ayoo Rash was nominated as best summer producer for the Kiss summer Awards.
