After receiving a financial boost from the City of Kigali, Kiyovu Sports Club has confirmed the addition of seasoned Burundian midfielder Cédric Amissi to its squad. The 34-year-old who joins the Green Baggies on a one-year deal boasts wide experience in Africa and beyond, having featured for clubs in Rwanda, his native Burundi as well as Saudi Arabia. Kiyovu Sports might sign more Burundian players during this window. According to reports, former Rayon Sports midfielder Pierrot Kwizera and Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana have been recently spotted in the team’s training sessions. The club’s spokesperson Hemed Minani said they will start the season in good shape after the City of Kigali gave them a financial boost. Now we are going to start the season without any problems. I can tell you the truth, you will see a Kiyovu team that you did not expect,” he noted.
