HIP HOP ARTISTE, Racine ventured into music in 2017. Since then, he has been preparing his first album titled Code 09-10, his birthdate (October, 9) and the same date that he will release the album this year. The album is composed by 15 songs of which nine have videos. “I started doing music as a singer in 2017 with my first song ‘Agahugu’, which boosted my name and showed Rwandans that I can be among the best rappers.” He so far has released 15 songs in a period of 4 years. Most of this artist’s songs are about true stories, which he explained, “Whenever you sing about true stories, it helps people to relate to what you are singing and be so environmental about what you wrote about too.” “Please, show me some love and support me on this album, because I did it for you and it required me a lot of effort to give you the best of all without any other support system since I don’t have any management nor label. Especially, don’t miss the song from 12 up to 14 on the track list,” he said. Born Thierry Kamatari, the 25-year-old was raised in Gatenga, Kicukiro and Nyamata. He studied Tourism in secondary school and did level 1 at UTB in Travel and Tourism Management. Besides rapping, Racine is also a song writer, a journey he began while in high school, and a movie actor in ‘Impanga Series.’ “Some artistes come to me for song writing, and the feedback from them is that I normally write amazing lyrics in a very short time and we all know that saving time is always an added value in this speedy world. One hour is enough for me to write a complete song,” replied Racine when asked about his uniqueness in song writing. He shared that he mostly writes for diaspora artistes and some of the songs he has written include; ‘Kunsutsu’ by Papa Cyangwe feauturing Juno Kizigenza, ‘Bambe’ by Papa Cyangwe feauturing Social Mula, ‘Sana’ by Papa Cyangwe, ‘He is Mine’ by Cassandra feauturing Alyn Sano, ‘Like a Queen’ by Lil G feauturing Christopher. Some of his popular songs are; ‘Agahugu’, ‘Nzura’, ‘Bizacamo, ‘Overnight’, ‘Nsengera’, ‘Hinduka’ and some others he featured in like ‘Waki Waki Remix’, ‘Ntamuntu Waruzi Ibibintu Remix’, ‘Ntakabya’ and others.
