Editor, After the painful events of the 1994 genocide, members of the international community who abandoned us at that time of need probably thought that our country would take forever to recover. Despite the fact that the scars and the loss of our loved ones will forever remain fresh in our hearts,it gives me so much joy to think of how far we have come as a united nation to this very day. Reconciliation and triumph are great attributes that not so many people or even strong nations can reach after going through such difficult times. Infact, it is not only great that we have managed to build a stronger nation from the ashes as rightly put by President Paul Kagame recently but we have also turned out to be one of the exemplary nations that many now look up to and believe that unity and reconciliation can indeed lead a country to greater economic growth. Our recovery progress is unbelievable and as we mourn our loved ones, let us reflect on how far we have come and continue to cling onto the hope that still prevails so that we will together continue to plant seeds of hope and reconciliation as this is a sure way that will drive Rwanda to even greater success. The present strides in the right direction are what our long lost loved ones ever hoped for. All they wanted was a united nation and a loving people that aims at attaining one goal which is building a strong nation with no boundaries based on ethnicity. Genocide-Never Again! Kigali city
