Excellent service delivery is one of the priorities of Cogebanque PLC despite the distant intervals between the locations of its customers on different corners of the planet. Cogebanque employs different card based payment options facilitated by MasterCard to connect people in different locations of the world. The payment cards allow clients to withdraw using ATM machines, pay different services on Points of Sales and facilitate online payments. The card payment options were first initiated in 2015 to connect local clients with those living abroad. They are a total of four, each providing a unique service without a need to visit the bank’s branch: MasterCard Prepaid are used to transact anywhere but with a uniqueness to be used even for non-Cogebanque customers. MasterCard debit links the customer with their bank account, from there, they can transact equivalent to the amount on the account. Unlike the latter, MasterCard credit allows the customer to exceed the amount of money on the account and pays them back in not later than 55 days without any interest fee. For VIP customers, Cogebanque has MasterCard prestige for you, which is a special card that gives a discount to customers for certain services, and allows them to be received as a VIP customer when visiting any branch. All these payment cards facilitated by MasterCard are available at any of the Cogebanque branches. According to Flory Rukokora, Cogebanque’s E-Banking Operations Manager, the cards allow users to transact without necessarily moving long distances. “These cards are very beneficial as they facilitate payments everywhere and anytime be it in shops, online and on top of that, walking with money can increase the risk of catching Covid-19, therefore using the cards reduces the customers’ exposure to the virus” he said. Five hundred customers who use the card-payment options facilitated by MasterCard were awarded different incentives last year through the Biroroshye hamwe na Cogebanque Mastercard campaign. Pio Ukurikiyeyezu was awarded a fridge for having used the cards for the last three years. According to him, using master card payment options eases transactions: “In life, we often need to make and receive payments, in that way, I use card payment options facilitated by MasterCard as they swiftly facilitate me to transact,” he commented. Fabiola Umurerwa who was awarded a laptop, hails Cogebanque for these Mastercards that facilitate her different daily activities: “I use the card payment options, almost in all activities, to pay for healthcare services, in different shops and markets among other activities. I really commend Cogebanque’s efforts for services that facilitate our daily life development,” she expressed. Since its establishment in Rwanda, 22 years ago, Cogebanque has already opened 28 branches nationwide with 36 ATM machines. Also, 600 agents of the bank are facilitating customers to access different services including account opening, depositing, withdrawing and internet banking as well. The bank also facilitates the clients to access mobile banking services (*505# or Coge mBank), smart cash card and all master cards-facilitated card payment options that help customers to pay and transact globally.
