South Sudan are the first team to arrive in Rwanda for the upcoming Afrobasket tournament that will unfold in Kigali from August 24 to September 5. Landry Jabo, the Afrobasket Coordinator and Executive Director at the Rwanda Basketball Federation (Ferwaba) confirmed the development to Times Sport, adding they will be camping at Onomo Hotel in Kigali and hold training at the Kigali Arena. South Sudan was placed in Group D of the tournament alongside West African powerhouse Senegal, Uganda, and Cameroon. According to Jabo, more teams are expected to arrive and they include Central Africa Republic on August 11, Egypt on August 16, Kenya on August 17 and Tunisia on August 19. The Afrobasket tournament will be played under serious Covid-19 preventive guidelines. The teams that will participate: Group A: Rwanda, Angola, DR Congo and Cape Verde Group B: Tunisia, Egypt, Central Africa Republic and Guinea Group C: Nigeria, Cote dIvoire, Mali and Kenya Group D: Senegal, Cameroon, South Sudan and Uganda
