CALENE INGABIRE, best known as Kaya Byinshii on Saturday released a live acoustic EP (extended play) which is already winning the attention and admiration of different live music lovers in the country. Kaya described the three-song extended play “We Don’t Know Love” as an inspiration that she got from personal experiences in romantic relationships. “The inspiration came from my personal and my friends experiences in relationships. A friend would come to me heartbroken and talk to me, it made me wonder if this is what love is. The fact that we fall in love and regret it later. I came to a conclusion that we dont know what love is” she said. “My new acoustic EP will open a conversation on what people perceive as ‘Love’ and all the titles we give to love,” she added. Kaya further explained the meaning and message behind of each song on the EP. “The first song, ‘Losing it’, raises a question, ‘how do we fall in love?’ The person portrays the way she feels about her lover, fantasizes and reimagines her favourite memories with her lover. She is falling in love again. She knows she’s been there before and she lost it, but she is ready to do that over and over” kaya said. “The second song ‘Shoulda Coulda Woulda’, opens a conversation about post-relationship regrets. Some people regret having been in their past romantic relationships, because they have been disappointed. They regret having encountered and let their ex-lovers into their lives. Why did they fall in love with them? Is it love if we regret it?” she added. “The third song, ‘You Don’t Know Love’, longs to find out who knows love and who doesn’t know love. Why do people cheat in romantic relationships, what is loyalty in love, do you know love,” she said. The EP was produced live with Shema Raymond on Guitar, Omer Nzoyisaba playing Djembe, sound recordist by Safari Eugene, and sound mixing and mastering by Dr. Nganji from Green Ferry Music. It is available on all major music streaming platforms in both video and audio formats. About Kaya Byinshii Kaya Byinshii is a talented 23-year old singer and songwriter.
