Rwanda’s APR, Police and Kepler Women Volleyball Clubs have been invited to participate in the forthcoming Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) international tournament set for August 2– 4 in Kampala, Uganda. Fresh from losing the 2024 Liberation Cup at the hands of Police, APR women will be looking to win the tournament for the third time in a row, having previously lifted it in 2022, 2023. Other teams traveling to Kampala for the tournament include Police men and women, Kepler Volleyball, and APR Men Volleyball Club. Police Volleyball Club are tournament’s defending champions in men’s category. Other foreign teams expected to participate in the two-day tournament include Muzinga and Rukinzo from Burundi. Kenya, DRC, Botswana, Tanzania and South Sudan will also be represented. ALSO READ: Petit Stade to host volleyball Liberation Day tourney This year’s games will take place at Lugogo Indoor Arena and the Hockey Grounds. The winning team will receive $2,500 (Rwf 3.3million), up from $1000 (Rwf 1.3 million) awarded to the winners in 2023. The second and third best teams both in the men and women categories will receive US$1,500 and US$1,000 respectively.
