Miss Supranational Rwanda winner, Anitha Kate Umuratwa, is in Poland to represent Rwanda at the 12th edition of Miss Supranational Global, held in Poland. She is set to compete with contestants from different countries around the world. Umuratwa replaced Shanitah Umunyana who held the title since 2019 and also represented Rwanda in Poland. The annual beauty pageant in Rwanda, organised by Supra Family Rwanda Ltd, is seen as an opportunity for Rwandan women to showcase their beauty, culture to the rest of the world. The 20-year-old, who is doing Information Management at The Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA), told The New Times that on her way to Poland she did the first challenge online but unfortunately due to poor internet connection she did not submit right on time. “I am now preparing myself for the second challenge that we are about to do. We are now in quarantine for two days and we have been asked to shoot a video of what we are doing during the quarantine. The video will be posted on Instagram reels and people will be voting based on the videos posted. The top 25 women will be selected for the next stage of the contest,” Umuratwa said. Umuratwa is upbeat about representing the country in the contest, saying that she hopes to put her best to emerge the global winner. “I am honored to be representing my country in this contest and I will be at my very best. I have hope that I will make it to the finals. I would like to ask all Rwandans to download the Miss Supranational Application and vote for me in group 7 because voting will give me a chance to be among the top 25”, she adds. Voting by the public will be done via the Miss Supranational application. The next Miss Supranational will replace Antonnia Porxild from Thailand who was crowned in 2019. The winner of this year’s edition will be announced during the contest’s glamorous grand finale on August 21 in Nowy Saczy, Poland.
