The Kingdom of Morocco celebrates, on July 30th, the 22nd Anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of his glorious ancestors, a moment of commemoration of a common history, filled with a strong patriotic charge that reflects the perfect symbiosis between the Throne and the people in their march towards the future. The celebration of this Day is an opportunity to reaffirm the perfect symbiosis between the Glorious Alawite Throne and the Moroccan people. Through this glorious occasion, the Moroccan people recall the major achievements made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty the King. This day holds a special significance for the people of Morocco as the Throne Day has a strong symbolic meaning for the whole nation. H.M the King Mohammed VI: 22 years of progress and realizations Since His accession to the Throne 22 years ago, HM. King Mohammed VI has opted for major structuring projects and opened social projects, the last of which was the generalization of social protection to all Moroccans. In terms of economic development and infrastructures, many projects have been initiated. Green Morocco, industrial acceleration, tourism plan, renewable energies, sustainable development, digital transformation etc. Thanks to the Royal’s Vision, the Moroccan economy has experienced a palpable recovery this year despite the recession in the world economy due to the repercussions of Covid-19. These achievements have enabled Morocco to position itself as one of the main emerging countries in the African continent. The countrys political stability and its openness to international markets have enabled it to become the preferred destination for investors. Thus, the Kingdom has consolidated and diversified its strategic partnerships with the EU, the United States, China, Russia and the countries of Latin America. At the same time, Morocco gave a strong impetus to its relations with Africa, which was punctuated by its return to the AU and its strong economic involvement in the continent. New Development Model, Future Vision for Morocco by 2035 Morocco adopted during this year a new development model, which advocates a vision that unites “a strong state with a strong society”, so that all forces are mobilized to create more opportunities for progress in the country. This ambition essentially calls for mobilizing all the countrys potential by placing people at the heart of the priorities of public policies, both bearer and beneficiary of the development process. The renovation of the development model constitutes a new stage in the consolidation of the social project carried out under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. Among the objectives of this new model are the doubling of gross domestic product per capita by 2035, mastery of basic learning at the end of the primary cycle by more than 90% of students, an increase in the number of doctors per inhabitant to reach WHO standards, reduction to 20% of the share of informal employment. Manufacture and syringe of the anti-Covid vaccine in Morocco Since Morocco began its vaccination campaign last January, more than 12% of the population has been vaccinated with both doses, making it the African country that has administered the most doses on the continent. In this regard, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has chaired on July 5, 2021, the ceremony of launching and signing of three agreements with the Chinese pharmaceutical group SINOPHARM, with an overall investment of $500 millions. The project aims to produce in Morocco the anti-Covid vaccine, as well as other key vaccines, in order to promote the Kingdoms self-sufficiency and to make Morocco a leading biotechnology platform on the African continent and the world in the field of the fill & finish industry. Moroccos medical aid to the African Continent Morocco, on the high guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has sent a medical aid to more than twenty African countries and has placed the mobilization and solidarity action as a prerequisite to overcome the multiple challenges facing the African continent. This approach of solidarity, he explained, reflects the constant commitment of Morocco to Africa and the willingness of the Kingdom to share its experience with the countries of the Continent, to help meet the challenges of achieving the goals of sustainable development The most recent emergency aid was sent to Tunisia after the country reached dramatic figures in terms of hospital occupancy and cumulative incidence of infections among the Tunisian population. Morocco-Rwanda: distinctive relationship Relations between Morocco and Rwanda witnessed a turning point after the official visit of H.M King Mohammed VI to Rwanda in October 2016, and the official visit to Morocco of H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, in June 2016. Since these visits, 40 agreements covering various fields were signed between the two countries and many official visits were exchange. For this purpose, a follow-up committee was created in January 2020, in order to accelerate the implementation of these agreements, as well as to explore new avenues for the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Since then, several cooperation projects are already operational and others will be launched shortly. During the last meeting in May of this year, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita and his Rwandan counterpart Mr. Vincent Biruta, the two sides reaffirmed their willingness to make every effort to further strengthen the bilateral relations, intensify and diversify the cooperation, to give it a strategic multisectoral character. Despite the global struggle to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Rwanda has set a shining example of how to manage this pandemic and how to safeguard public health. The two Governments, under the leadership of the Heads of States have responded to the Covid-19 pandemic within innovative interventions to prevent and contain the spread of coronavirus. Importantly, the response has mobilized adaptive and innovative technologies and robust risk communication as well as a large community engagement to deliver an effective response to the pandemic. Despite this pandemic, the last year and this year saw a continued development in the bilateral and multilateral relations, and an enforcement of the cooperation between Morocco and Rwanda in all fields.
