Yes, Never Again. Once again that is the message the SundayMag has for you. We are saying Never Again to the genocide. We have suffered enough as Africans. We have suffered enough as Rwandans. We did not deserve a Genocide. No one in this world should ever witness a Genocide. No one deserves it. The entire world should say ‘Never Again’. As we commemorate those who we lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, we should remember the survivors. Without them, we would know the actual horrors of what transpired. Without them, the genocide planners would have registered victory. Victory against humanity. We should support the survivors. They need our empathy. We should not look at them like a different species but rather like our very own. They are our very own. Let’s remember and honour those we lost. Let’s not open the wounds of those who survived. Let’s pray and hope that those who took part in the horrific killings feel remorse and honestly seek forgiveness. Let’s not shun those who genuinely seek to make up for their crimes; it’s the only way our nation will heal. Their attempt to seek forgiveness is a victory that humanity will always triumph. Let’s speak with one voice against genocide. Let’s support those under threat of genocide elsewhere in the world. We have suffered it; we should know better not to let it occur anywhere else. At SundayMag, once again we say, “Never Again.” Let’s walk with heads high full of hope in the future. A bright joyful future. Editor
