Ibrahim Cyusa, a traditional singer and dancer is set to entertain music lovers during a live performance at the Iwacu Muzika Festival 2021, scheduled for Saturday, July 17. This virtual event will take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, and will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45pm. Cyusa told The New Times that he is overwhelmed with the opportunity to entertain Rwandans after a long time as he missed performing music live. “I will be performing together with Inkera traditional dance troupe as usual. Rwandans should expect the best of Gakondo music and all our traditional dances that they love and they should get ready to dance, said Cyusa. Cyusa’s recent song dubbed Mama was released four months ago, which he dedicated to his mother, appreciating her for raising him well to become the man he is today. He added that he is building a house located at Ruyenzi which is why he has been busy but he is planning to release eight new songs. The Imparamba hitmaker will headline the festival for his first time, following previous performances by Platini Nemeye who opened the festival on June 26, RDF Military Band and Mani Martin who performed last Saturday. Some of his songs include Rwanda Nkunda, Mbwire nde, Umubabaro, Muhoza wanjye and many others. He was also one of the singers who used to back up Cecile Kayirebwa on stage before he started his solo career. Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry by bringing together different artistes in their respective age brackets on the same stage, is organised by East African Promoters, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
