BOSCO NIYOKWIZERWA also known as Niyo Bosco, yesterday July 12, released a song, Piya puresha’ that talks about how peer pressure leads so many people into danger. Speaking to The New Times, his manager, Irene Murindahabi explained that the sing is not meant to only to entertain, but also has a message to it. He believes that peer pressure is such a big issue especially among the youth because it introduces to bad behaviors that they didn’t have while growing up. Murindahabi added that they dedicated this song to all the youth who are so addicted to drugs, fornication and other bad habits but are willing to stop. Murindahabi also told The New Times that it took a whole month to work on the song, which for him was all worth it. In just 24 hours, the song had already garnered over 123,000 views on YouTube. Niyo Bosco came into the spotlight last year with his hit song ‘Ubigenza Ute that went on to dominate headlines despite his disability.’. The gospel singer, songwriter and guitarist lost his sight at the age of 12 after his parents struggled to afford malaria treatment due to financial constraints, leading to blindness in the processs. However, visual impairment did not stop him from embarking on music having realised that he can make the best out of his singing talent which he had from his very young age. His other songs include ‘Seka’, ‘Ibanga,’ among others.
