Tanzanian giants Simba SC have named former APR FC’s vice chairman Francois Regis Uwayezu as their new Chief Executive Officer. The astute football administrator is taking over the new duties on August 1, replacing Imani Kajula who resigned from the position. In an official statement, the club’s administration described Uwayezu as an exceptionally well-organised and resourceful professional with over twelve years of working experience. Uwayezu holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Accounting and a certificate of IPSAS (International Public Sector Accounting Standards). His extensive career includes more than ten years in managerial positions, spanning sports, finance and administrative management in both public and private sectors. He spent many years working as a Government Internal Auditor, Director of Administration and Finance, and Director of Operations in different institutions, the statement read.
