Six girls have been crowned as this year’s Miss Global Beauty Rwanda winners and will represent the country in different international beauty pageants. The girls, aged between 18 and 25, were selected during a grand finale held at Canal Plus Olympia, Rebero on Thursday, June 24. The event was attended by 20 people, including a dozen finalists. This is the first time the contest is taking place in Rwanda. The winners are Stella Matutina Murekatete (Miss Tourism World Rwanda), Clementine Uwimana (Miss Glam World Rwanda), Landrine Uwicyeza Gisagara (Miss Africa Golden Rwanda) and Queen Dorinema (Miss Glamour Faces Rwanda). Others are Isabella Queen Irera (World Top Model Rwanda), and Cynthia Umutesi Rutayisire (Miss Tourism Global Rwanda). “I am excited to be crowned Miss Tourism World, it means a lot because I have always dreamed to be crowned in any beauty pageant since at a very young age, I thank God for the crown,” Murekatete told The New Times. She added that she is both physically and mentally ready to compete in the Miss World Tourism contest. “I hope to work with Visit Rwanda to contribute and make Rwanda known everywhere that I will go. I will do my best to raise our flag high,” she added. Clementine Uwimana, the Miss Glam World Rwanda, told The New Times that the journey was not easy but she was lucky the public voted for her. She also said she performed well in the long gown competition and presentation. “I will do my best to represent my country and bring the crown home,” she said. Other contestants who were crowned include Landrine Uwicyeza Rusagara (Miss Global Beauty Rwanda Photogenic), Gretta Iwacu (Miss Global Beauty Rwanda Congeniality), and Clementine Uwimana (Miss Global Beauty Rwanda Long gown). Others are Anne-Marie Dushimiyimana (Miss Global Beauty Rwanda Talent Winner), and Nadia Umutoniwase (Miss Global Beauty Rwanda Popularity) Others are Honorine Uwase, who was named Miss Global Beauty Rwanda first runner-up, Diane Bayizere, the second runner-up, Grace Ingabire, the third runner-up, and Gretta Iwacu, the fourth runner-up.
