Canada-based Rwandan artist, Calvin Ngabo Kagahe, commonly known as Young CK, has told The New Times that he is excited about the remix of his song ‘Umugabo’ and that this is just the beginning of more to come. Young CK is a rising hip hop artist who joined the music industry in 2019 with his first song ‘Get the Bag’. In an interview with The New Times, the singer extended his gratitude to all the supporters of his music and shared that there are many more to come. Released on August 2, last year, Young CK’s ‘Umugabo’ featured rappers Getts Kent and Arnaud Gray and has since gone on to be a hit song. According to Young CK hip hop artist known as Shizzo Afropapi told him that he liked the song and wanted to do a big remix with other artists. The remix of ‘Umugabo’ by Shizzo Afropapi features Young CK, Ish Kevin, Bull Dogg, Mazimpaka Prime, Young Grace and Diplomat. Asked about what he thinks of such a big project, Young CK said: “It is such a big achievement. I have seen what Shizzo Afropapi has done in the music industry and for the rapper to work on my song is incredible. When I was young, I was a very big fan of some of the artistes in the remix of this song and working with them now was such an honour.” In the song, artistes talk about how a real man is one who works hard to provide for his family instead of wasting his time on useless things. “I would like to thank you for cleaning the Hip Hop playground. However hard it was, you were not afraid to face all the challenges and now we are doing great because of you. There are some Hip-Hop artists who are afraid of stepping in or whose parents prevent them from following their talents, but when they see you growing and doing Hip Hop, professionally they are encouraged,” was Young CK’s message to Rwandan rappers. Ish Kevin, another growing talent in Trapish, as he prefers to call his genre, was so happy to feature in this song. “This song is nothing less of a joy to me. Working with the old-school rappers whom we used to look up to is really a big deal. Am so thankful for the big talents in this project,” he said.
