The 2021 men and women volleyball league championship will kick-off on August 1, the volleyball governing body (FRVB) has said. According to the second vice president of Rwanda volleyball federation Jean de Dieu Bagirishya, the championship will feature six clubs in the men’s category, and seven in the women’s fray. “The league will kick-off on August 1 for both the women and men’s divisions,” Bagirishya said. The plan is for the league to conclude in September, but there will be other tournaments in between that include; Liberation Day, Gisagara tournament, Gisaka tournament and Agaciro tournament. The six men’s clubs include defending champions Rwanda Energy Group (REG), Gisagara VC , Kirehe VC, Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB), IPRC-South VC, and APR VC. The women’s league will bring together University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB), reigning champions Rwanda Revenue Authority, Ruhango High School, St Joseph, APR, IPRC-Kigali and St Aloys de Rwamagana.
